“I am a contemporary Sumi-e artist reaching beyond the limits of traditional ink painting and creating the ‘sound of one hand’. I survived a massive brain-stem stroke using art as an integral part of my healing process and paint only with my non-dominant left hand. Sumi-e expresses the character and soul of the artist. Inspiration for my painting comes from the soul of nature as my brush dances across the page. My artistic mission is to tell everyone that there is hope/life after traumatic life-altering experiences.”
