“My favorite heart work is dialoguing with a client, getting input about their joyous moments, and going to the canvas with my intuition to discover their personal visual power symbol. I have a need and desire to mend the split of the soul from Source translating a feeling of exploration and celebration, whether the image is calm, lively, landscape, figurative, or sacred hoop. I employ circular forms through most of my work, representing life’s healing continuum. My earthy explorations have a narrative sense as well as a touch of mythology.”
Cherilyn SunRidge intended studies in interior design, but was ignited by the excitement of painting. She exhibits in the metro Portland, Oregon area and has gallery shows throughout the U.S. Her solo exhibition at Chadron State College, Nebraska, entitled “Hoops, Figures, Land Humming The Spirits of Place Into Life”, describes perfectly her main focus in painting.
She received the juror’s award in the “La Lluvia” exhibition at the Columbia Center for the Arts, Hood River, Oregon. The juror said he chose her work for “the beckoning lines leading beyond.” She also received an Award in Manhattan Arts International “HERStory 2016” exhibition.
SunRidge says she continues her life and artistic education “by paying attention.”
