“My images come to me from my meditations. I am driven to paint, by the need to express states of mind I can share no other way. I work with the landscape, and often the sky-scape, as it is the storyboard upon which I visualize my ideas playing out. I am drawn to painting birds, floating leaves, balloons, and butterflies on my landscapes and sky-scapes, because they can fly free without limits, they convey so much of what is positive, and because they can easily represent aspects of spirit floating above the landscape.”
Leanne Hamilton has been been painting, and more recently teaching art, in San Jose, California for more than 15 years. She founded and ran a teaching art studio in San Jose, for several years.
In 2015 her painting “Descending Peace” graced the cover the 95120 Magazine and her art was featured in the Almaden Times. She participates in Silicon Valley Open Studios (SVOS) almost every year, and was awarded Second Place in the SVOS October 2015 exhibition. The artist has also shown in regional shows in Palo Alto, San Jose and Scotts Valley, in California. She is also a member of Los Gatos Art Association (LGAA) and California Art Club.
Hamilton’s early background as a Civil Engineer has given her work structure and a firm grounding in reality. Her art represents a balance of spiritual and intangible experiences in a concrete, visually realistic way.
