Guimond creates ebullient paintings with a rhythmic interplay of bold, vibrant colors, dynamic geometric and fractal patterns, and curvilinear organic forms. Her human and nature-inspired subjects exude a scintillating energy that lifts our spirits and delights our senses.
One of Guimond’s many distinctive qualities is her luminous circular motif. As it symbolizes the earth, sun and moon, it resonates with universality and eternity and the healing modality of unity and wholeness.
The ethereal golden sphere in “Ether Light” emanates transcendence and enlightenment and highlights the subject from an otherworldly realm. The linear design format emphasizes dimension and containment, which is a superb contrast against the curvaceous shape of the woman’s body.
Guimond’s contemporary portrayal of the femme nouvelle serves an allegorical purpose and celebrates femininity and sensuality. Her aesthetically beautiful figures represent human vulnerability, independence and unabashed sexuality.
Guimond’s narrative “Soul Fragments Series” portrays subjects that are personal and universal. It is important to note, in addition to earning a BA degree in Visual Arts, and a MA degree in Education, Guimond studied Mental Health. Therefore, she brings a psychological depth to her visceral paintings that stimulate conscious awareness and conceptual interpretation.

Guimond’s oeuvre is rooted in her extensive creative acumen. Her understanding of the healing power of color is shown in her soothing, balanced, and vibrant palette. Her proficiency in creating stained glass is reflected in her expert precision of design, form and patterns that permeate her images with spatial depth and perception.
Furthermore, her synergetic use of biomorphic shapes, Fibonacci and fractal patterns, and references to Pop Art and geometric abstractionism enhances her comprehensive repertoire.
“Dialogue of the Trees” is a kaledoscopic, swirling fusion of color and shapes from Guimond’s “Mauve Hour” series. Her nature-inspired paintings convey the metamorphic characteristics of each season as they evolve through time. She ventures beyond capturing nature’s innate qualities and infuses them with a stylized profusion of poetry, harmony and fluidity.

Guimond illuminates the coexistence of human forms with Mother Nature throughout time. “Wood Nymph” suggests the term for a dryad in Ancient Greek mythology; however, Guimond’s modern portrayal and profound gaze evoke thoughts about current environmental issues. The repeated patterns in the trees and the woman’s dress emphasize the symbiotic bond we share with nature.
