Art That Will Lift Your Spirits!
If you’re suffering from an overload of negative news of the world and seeking some relief, you came to the right place. To lift your spirits we searched our website to present an online art exhibition “Whimsical Art by Artist Members”.
Shown here is art by Sandra Belitza-Vazquez, Tanis Bula, Roopa Dudley, Andrea Kay, Peter N. Van Giesen, and Janice Phelps Williams and it would not be complete without paintings by Joan Miro and Henri Matisse.
These works of art can be described as whimsical, light-hearted, carefree, spontaneous, fanciful, quirky, capricious, eccentric, fun-loving, or childlike. The artists’ statements explain what inspired them.
This beautiful display reinforces our belief in the healing power of art and artists’ ability to alter our mood and bring positive change. Be prepared to be amused, entertained and impressed by the range of creative talent. Please visit the members’ pages and websites, and contact them directly to purchase their art.
Sandra Belitza-Vazquez
Just Skipping Along, digital photography, 16″ x 16″. “While on safari to South Africa, I lived in a beautiful air-conditioned tent built on stilts, that had a lovely deck with a view to the river nearby. I went out daily to see the sights, and one morning, I noticed this Crowned Hornbill happily skipping along the wooden railing surrounding the deck. He paid me no mind because he looked like he was on a mission, and his whimsical hopping provided me with a beautiful beginning to my day.”
Peter N. Van Giesen
Raindrops Keep Falling, acrylic on canvas 24″ x 30″. “As a child I loved standing in the light rain and feeling the drops as they caress my skin. I imagine each drop being its own little complete world among infinite possibilities. Even today I love repeating this ritual. This bright painting captures my delight and imagination.”
Tanis Bula
Tilly the Turtle, mixed media, 9″ x 14.5″. “This turtle was coming in from the ocean but the shadows from the sun created the most interesting colors in her shell. After Tilly comes in from her morning swim, she sunbathes while the sun bounces off her shell creating a mosaic of ocean colors.”
Roopa Dudley
Something Fishy, acrylic. 40″x 30″. “Although I lived in Miami, Florida for thirteen years, I never went snorkeling in my life. However, I like exploring the coral reefs of my mind through my vivid imagination where something fishy is always going on.”
Andrea Kay
Andrea Kay created “Belle”, a 3-D mixed media bird sculpture. “I create 3-D mixed media bird sculptures and 2-D bird collage from torn paper I make or paint, wire and found objects, then I write a story for each piece. 3-D birds swing on a branch or rest on a wood perch. I love to bring new life to random paper and stray objects and create my interpretation of one of nature’s most magical creatures that lift spirits and embody hope –– guaranteed to fill you with joy.”
Janice Phelps Williams
“Imaginary Sea”, ink, colored pencil, 19″ x 24″. “Every line, shape, color, and shade originates in nature. With no mechanical help or instruction, Mother Nature creates perfect symmetrical designs, as well as wild, random shapes.”

Renee,
A perfect idea. I’m sorry I missed this opportunity.
I have whimsical and enjoy painting it. Yet, it is not
On my website as yet. Inspired by classic
Children Books.. and daydreams. I love this
Display!
Vicki, Thank you for your comment. I’m sorry you didn’t submit your art to this Members Only theme exhibition. I’m sure there will be a similar theme in the future. I like the idea of a “dreams” show or art inspired by literature.
Oh what a lively, fun exhibit! So many different styles. Whimsey is the perfect antidote to these strange and troubling times… thank you. And thank you also for including me!
Sue, it’s such a pleasure to include your art. I can’t imagine a show about Whimsical Art and not have your art in it. All the best!
Thank you! ❤️
Fun and Wonderful collection of Whimsical Art on the Healing Power of Art & Artists Gallery.
I enjoy the whole exhibition of whmsical art. Is there a Call For Artists to show the Figurative work in the Healing Power of Art & Artists? Or is that Call for Artist Entries for the Manhattan Arts Gallery?
Thank you.
Susan, thank you for your comment. What call for “figurative work” are you referring to? I don’t know of any such call for either The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS or Manhattan Arts International.
What a wonderful exhibit! I cannot pick a favorite as I like them all. Thank you to you and all the artists who shared their work. Definitely made CB my spirits lighter!
