Interesting Facts Shared by Sandra Belitza-Vazquez:
“I am still in touch with many of my ex-students from the Department of Graphic Arts and Design of the University of the Americas after forty-four years! We have a yearly reunion in Puebla, Mexico, where we share news of our families and refresh our memories of our wonderful times at the University.”
She adds, “I seem to attract the attention of animals in a good way. While visiting gorillas in Uganda, a rambunctious 3-year-old gorilla pushed me down a slope, and I wound up sitting next to his silverback daddy. During the COVID pandemic, I photographed a pair of wrens that prepared a nest next to the table on my deck. While photographing the 4 nestlings, momma wren jumped onto my back, then jumped onto the flowerpot holding her babies, and began feeding them while looking around at me. While in Madagascar, a lemur jumped on my head, another came to my hand, and a third, a blue-eyed black lemur, came down a tree limb to take a look at me from 24” away. I love encounters like this!”
