Enjoy This Delightful Article!

It is an honor and pleasure to present “Artist Members Tell Us What Inspired Their Works of Art”.  All members of The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS online gallery were invited to choose one of the works of art that is presented on their membership page and tell us what inspired it. We received replies from 4 members. They are Peter N. Van Giesen, Therese Boisclair, Tanis Bula, and Rajul Shah.

It is always a delight to learn what lies in the hearts and minds of these incredible, talented artists. We learn more about how they explore the wellspring of their creativity and bring their ideas and feelings to fruition. As a result we gain more understanding and appreciation for them and their art.

Artists are featured in the order in which we received their replies. The artists’ names will take you to their pages where you will find 6 more images of their works of art, read more about their inspiration, and learn about some of their many art career achievements. You will also find links to their websites. Contact them directly to purchase their art.

Peter N. Van Giesen

Realm of Wonderland, acrylic 16x20
Realm of Wonderland, acrylic on canvas, 20″ x 16″

In creating this artwork “Realm of Wonderland” my hope is for each viewer to embrace their inner child and accept the invitation to pull back the curtain of experience and adulthood so they might once again see the extraordinary everywhere. Pure joy and delight awaits!

Therese Boisclair

Beacon of Hope #5, Mixed Media, 24x18
Beacon of Hope #5, mixed media, 24″ x 18″

For me, light is the ultimatum form of Hope. The light is such an important aspect of life. To reach for the light is like reaching for the Divine.

Tanis Bula

Roses, watercolor, 19x19
Roses, watercolor, 19″ x 19″

I love the colors of roses — so many varieties and colors. In the painting of “Roses” I like using the black to surround the roses for contrast and definition. Using roses of different sizes creates interest. I would like the viewers to respond to the colors and be inspired by nature. What nature does by creating different shapes, colors and sizes is amazing. The more you are aware of the variations the more you will be amazed at how did nature make this happen. We truly live in an amazing world for us to see.

Intuition, Acrylic & 23kt Gold Leaf on Wood, 12 x 12 inches
Intuition, acrylic and 23kt gold leaf on wood, 12″ x 12″

“Intuition” was inspired by Rothko’s use of color, I delved into a textural and predominantly monochromatic representation of the 6thChakra (AJNA) also known as our third eye chakra.  Its aura color is Indigo and is our window to intuition and insight.  Fusing the use of this color with the art of Kintsugi, I wanted to show imperfect life experiences are still a path to wisdom.  We can improve our actions after gaining further insight and wisdom as we travel through Life.
