Sharon Grimes Creates Gorgeous Abstract Expressionist Paintings

“Two Moons and A Vessel”, oil on a 2" cradled birch panel textured with black edges and gloss finish, 40" x 40"
Two Moons and A Vessel, oil on a 2″ cradled birch panel textured with black edges and gloss finish, 40″ x 40″. This painting evokes the spirit of fulfillment, abundance, and hope.

Sharon Grimes creates gorgeous abstract expressionist paintings that are imbued with a radiant evanescent glow, rhythmic forms, and luscious tactile surfaces. They immediately captivate us with an alluring atmospheric and ethereal energy that activates a transformative experience. Sharon creates her works of art from her studios in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Longview, Texas.

Versatility is one of Sharon’s many admirable creative talents, propelled by spontaneity and intuition that guide her with effortless ingenuity. Throughout her portfolio we observe semblances from nature’s glorious bounty, the world beyond us, and human forms. The animated elements coalesce in contrast and harmony that delight our senses — both visually and metaphysically.

Garden Escape by Sharon Grimes
Garden Escape, oil on paper, 30″ x 22″. This multi-layered tactile painting arouses sensations of depth and discovery.

As a masterful colorist Sharon heightens emotive expression using a diverse palette that consists of both warm and cool and analogous and complementary colors. She is also proficient in a range of mediums that include oil, pastel, charcoal, gold leaf, and a variety of pencils and pens. With these artistic resources she skillfully applies many transparent and translucent layers that infuse her art with a palpable sense of depth.

Memories of Long Ago, oil, created on a 2'' cradled birch panel with black edges and gloss finish, 36” x 36”
Memories of Long Ago, oil, created on a 2” cradled birch panel with black edges and gloss finish, 36” x 36”. This ethereal, dreamlike painting ignites our state of contemplation.

Sharon’s vibrant, nature-inspired art is ideal for any individual who wishes to bring healing art into their homes to enrich their lives. Her art is also most desirable and suitable for healthcare and medical venues.

It is a pleasure to include one of Sharon’s paintings in “The Healing Power of Art: Love, Peace, Unity & Hope” juried exhibition presented on this website.
