Rajul Shah (b. 1968, Mumbai) is an abstract artist currently based in Singapore and the United States. She is best known for her 2D Kintsugi paintings, which integrate a meditative layering of colors.
Rajul works primarily in mixed media, incorporating acrylic, oil, gouache, paper, and metal leaf to create her textured and conceptual works. She refined her craft through studies at the Temple University Tyler School of Art in Tokyo and Mentorships, which have deeply influenced her artistic philosophy and technical approach.

Rajul has exhibited her work in many prestigious venues such as the 82nd Annual Shinseisaku Exhibition at the National Art Center in Tokyo, the 49th Annual Genyouten Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the 32nd Annual National Japanese Exhibition of Nature at Ueno No Mori Art Museum.

Her work has also been part of international showcases like the 29th Annual International Society of Experimental Artists in Canada and the XIII Florence Biennale.
In 2025, Rajul showcased her work in the Pre-World Expo Kyoto and the Super Fair in New York City, NY. She is represented by Vedica Art Studios and Gallery in Mumbai, India.

Rajul’s art is held in various private collections worldwide and has been featured at notable events including the 2018 India Art Festival in Mumbai, the 2019 HartExpo in Barcelona, and the 2019 Tokyo International Art Fair.
Rajul’s art was also selected for the Manhattan Arts International “HerStory” 2025 Invitational Exhibition.

An Art Review about Rajul’s “Renewal” series of artwork has been published in The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS Featured Artists series. In it I wrote, “Rajul Shah is a versatile abstract color field artist renowned for her ability to reinterpret spiritual spheres of knowledge and manifest them into innovative contemporary artistic expressions.”

Rajul Shah’s Artist’s Statement: “My work explores themes of resilience, transformation and the reclamation of self. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi, my paintings represent the restoration of emotional balance and renewal of chakras, emphasizing the beauty in imperfection. Textured surfaces with layers of color invite introspection and articulate the fragile balance between vulnerability and strength. My art intertwines abstract expression with meaningful narratives of healing and transformation.”

Interesting Facts about Rajul Shah: Prior to becoming an artist, Rajul spent 20 years in healthcare marketing. She earned an MBA degree in Pharmaceutical Marketing.
