Rajul Shah (b. 1968, Mumbai) is an abstract artist currently based in Singapore and the United States. She is best known for her 2D Kintsugi paintings, which integrate a meditative layering of colors.

Rajul works primarily in mixed media, incorporating acrylic, oil, gouache, paper, and metal leaf to create her textured and conceptual works. She refined her craft through studies at the Temple University Tyler School of Art in Tokyo and Mentorships, which have deeply influenced her artistic philosophy and technical approach.

An Art Review about Rajul’s “Renewal” series of artwork has been published in The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS Featured Artists series. In it I wrote, “Rajul Shah is a versatile abstract color field artist renowned for her ability to reinterpret spiritual spheres of knowledge and manifest them into innovative contemporary artistic expressions.”

Rajul Shah’s Artist’s Statement: “My work explores themes of resilience, transformation and the reclamation of self. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi, my paintings represent the restoration of emotional balance and renewal of chakras, emphasizing the beauty in imperfection. Textured surfaces with layers of color invite introspection and articulate the fragile balance between vulnerability and strength. My art intertwines abstract expression with meaningful narratives of healing and transformation.”
