Corina Ioana is a contemporary artist who was born in Transylvania, Romania and currently lives in California. Endowed with fearless bravado and versatility she conveys a vision of the miraculous natural world and human aspirations and their interconnections. She combines her emotive use of color and multi-faceted skills in photography, digital art using drawing and painting techniques. She also has created a new collection of original paintings “Validation is for Parking” that includes her paintings in acrylic and mixed media.
Corina’s empowering “Femme Fatale” series is a bold expression of the spirited female subject entwined with floral forms. The compositions are fluid, graceful and harmonious. Her use of vibrant shades of red and purple against black and grey emote passion and intensity. The facial features emerge triumphantly with an unbridled feminine sensuality.
In this captivating, symbolic series we sense attributes of strength and resilience achieved by overcoming life’s challenges.

Corina’s “Nature Infused” series offers a variety of macro images and abstractions that capture the robust vitality of the botanical realm. Her superb use of rhythmic movement amidst swirling forms and strong geometric elements are especially apparent.
Shown here is “Path to Enlightenment” a stunning whirlpool type of energy that entices us with its hypnotic and calming presence taking us to the luminous yellow center.

With her jubilant “Splash of Magic” collection Corina moves further into abstraction. They emphasize exquisite forms from nature and their innate positive energies. As exemplified by “Joyful Mosaic of Vibrant Pebbles” the images from this series transport us to states of being revitalized and restored by nature.
With Corina’s “Heaven on Earth” series we are entranced by tranquil, cosmic, other-worldly artworks that emanate moods of mystery and meditative wonder.

Corina has an expansive range of ingenuity for pushing boundaries when creating her art and her choice of mediums. An example is her new self-portrait painting “Validation is for Parking”, 30″ x 40” in mixed media. It is a masterfully composed, multi-faceted painting that keeps us enthralled with its dynamic juxtaposition of images, text, and Pop art elements.
The work of art is from her new original painting collection titled “Validation is for Parking” that includes her art in acrylic and mixed media.
About the painting Corina explains, “I used a background in acrylic with splashes of color and molding paste, my portrait ripped in 2 on top, stencils of the words Love and Soul, a crown on my head and at the end I poured epoxy to glue everything on the canvas.”

“Spiral Theory II” is a dramatic and mysterious painting in which Corina has combined circular patterns and dots in a unique arrangement. Random and yet organized, it conjures association with the human developmental process as well as representing the cosmos, the vast universe beyond, and our fascination for the unknown.
For this painting Corina’s techniques included swirls and twisted mixed colors with her brush which were layered repeatedly, letting the paint dry in between applications.
This multi-layered process continued. Corina explains, “At the end, I used splashes of color and added the little white dots with paint and brush, one by one.” She applied a coat of resin to the finished painting. You can imagine how it shimmers and glows in different lighting conditions and stimulates endless hours of meditative wonder.
Corina’s contributions to the art world and humanity include her profound commitment to enlighten and empower us. Through her art she takes us on paths of discovery and renewal beyond the physical realm. She invites us to explore, embrace and expand our personal inner potentiality.
