About Roslyn Rose: Roslyn Rose is an award winning internationally exhibiting artist with a studio to Rochester, NY. Her artwork was part of an exhibition at Rochester Contemporary Gallery in Rochester, NY, celebrating the 70th anniversary of The Arena Art Group in 2021.

Her photograph “Beach House,” shown above, was featured in an art exhibition at the Genesee Valley Council On the Arts, Mt. Morris, NY, in 2022.

Roslyn Rose’s Artist’s Statement: “I use the contemporary virtual darkroom to integrate images from life and imagination. The original pictures used to create my digital collages or photographic montages include my slides and photographs plus found pictures. The images are scanned into the computer and elements are manipulated, color adjusted, and combined into artworks. It is an invented fantasy context for each scenario suggesting myths, the past, or the future. I juxtapose the neglected with the occupied, the deserted with the inhabited, one scene with another, or the past with the present. By combining reality with unreality I go beyond the traditional photograph.”
Fascinating Facts About Roslyn Rose: “I have visited almost every state in the USA and many European countries. The biggest thrill to me is to walk the streets and buildings still standing that were first walked by people who lived thousands of years ago — for example Pompeii.”
