He is also an avid boater and is out year around in his ocean going kayak exploring the Pacific Northwest gulf islands. He confides, he got into trouble for doing this.

Another interesting fact about David: “I grew up in a family of artists. I followed in the footsteps of my grandfather, who was a published cartoonist in the 1950’s. After college I drew editorial cartoons for newspapers and cartoons for national magazines. I started painting in college but wanted to try my luck with cartoons.”

Sandra Belitza-Vazquez

Sandra Belitza-Vazquez photographerSandra takes photographs that share the beauty and wonder of the world. She states, “I seem to attract the attention of animals in a good way. While visiting gorillas in Uganda, a rambunctious 3-year-old gorilla pushed me down a slope, and I wound up sitting next to his silverback daddy. During the COVID pandemic, I photographed a pair of wrens that prepared a nest next to the table on my deck. While photographing the 4 nestlings, momma wren jumped onto my back, then jumped onto the flowerpot holding her babies, and began feeding them while looking around at me. While in Madagascar, a lemur jumped on my head, another came to my hand, and a third, a blue-eyed black lemur, came down a tree limb to take a look at me from 24” away. I love encounters like this!”
