Special Recognition Award-Winning Artist in Our “Art Inspired by Nature” 2026 Exhibition
It is an enormous pleasure to have selected Aaron Laux to receive a “Special Recognition Art Award”. His extraordinary, life-enhancing works of art recently came to my attention as the curator of our “Art Inspired by Nature”2026 Online Exhibition. After visiting his website I grew increasingly captivated by the masterful quality of his artwork and learned about his relentless commitment to helping us understand how we connect to the natural world.
Aaron’s inimitable creativity is fused with purposeful intention. It is a joyful honor for me to also induct Aaron into our our series of “World Changers”.
The relationship with our environment is a theme that Aaron explores in his work and life. His range of artistic acumen is reflected in his diverse and spectacular portfolio which spans original art, commissions, community-based projects, public art, as well as functional and architectural works.
His art serves as a healing modality. He has received commissions for large scale artworks for numerous institutions in Healthcare. Aaron also focuses on bringing his art to individuals who might not normally have access, which is one of his many admirable traits.
When Aaron submitted his “Ancestral Migration”, (shown above), to our “Art Inspired by Nature” exhibition he wrote “As carbon cycles from its geologic form, to the atmosphere, and into the bodies of all living organisms — this is the ancestral migration. This constant transformation, which literally makes life possible, reminds us of our interdependence with the entire living world.”
Aaron also submitted his stellar “Healing Waters” to the exhibition. He stated: “One of my favorite places in the world is the shoreline of the inland sea, Lake Superior. Mesmerized by the tremendous power of this water, I feel humbled, also transfixed by the colors and light. This piece is about a place of healing.”
Some of Aaron’s Many Achievements
From 2016 to 2018, Aaron was a Fellow in the Clark Hulings Fund Business Accelerator program. We learn that this experience helped him “…bridge the gap between the necessity of creating an income, with the vision and spiritual side of making art.”
Aaron was selected to participate in GLEAM with his art entitled “Luminous Grass.” The exhibition took place at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin. GLEAM celebrates the symbiosis of art and nature with installations of predominantly light sculptures throughout the outdoor gardens.
In 2018, Aaron exhibited his functional art with the Handmade Craft Invitational at the Dubuque Museum of Art. This selective exhibition featured artists whose work influences the current functional art movement.
Aaron was one of the artists selected for the exhibition “The Phoenix from the Ashes.“ It featured public art and was organized by the Madison Arts Commission which explores Climate Change issues, including deforestation.

As a father of a young daughter Aaron feels it is important for him to become increasingly vocal about his concerns about the impact of human caused Climate Change.
His fearless quest is “to help us all understand that we are an integral part of the natural community and wider universe, not separate from or in opposition to it.”
We are extremely appreciative for his commitment to address important issues and applaud him for using his artistic talent to bring positive change to individuals, society and the environment.
It is also important to note that Aaron is available for creating commissioned works of art — ranging from those for private homes to corporate collections.
