Artist Members Share The Core Beliefs That Impact Their Art

By Renee Phillips Leave a Comment

Our core beliefs and philosophies impact our views of the world, our decisions, priorities, how we communicate and deal with challenges, triumphs and tribulations. For artists, the beliefs they choose have a powerful impact on their creative visions and finished works of art.

With great pleasure we present this article “Artist Members Share The Core Beliefs That Impact Their Art”. The artists are Sandra Belitza-Vazquez, Monique J. Dufour, Judy Hatlen, David G. Rickman, Rajul Shah, Bren Sibilsky, Frantisek Strouhal, Peter N. Van Giesen, and Janice Phelps Williams.

As you read their statements and view their art I’m sure you’ll encounter kindred spirits. To learn more about them and their art please visit their pages and websites and contact them directly to purchase their work.

Are you wondering what core beliefs guide and impact the direction of The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS? You’ll find out at the end of the article.

Inspiration is an endless wellspring from within my spirit, a belief in the interconnectedness of all things.

Creating art, for me, is a mystical process, a spiritual work, and an exercise of creativity. I am drawn to the mystery that is implicit in the natural world. When I paint it is if the veil of the common life is momentarily lifted allowing me to be embraced by the underlying essence of the universe. I consider my artistic expression a gift to be shared.

Being grateful for every day of life by enjoying the beauty of the day, regardless of whether the sun is shining or it’s raining or snowing, cold or hot, is the philosophy that guides my creativity. As the changing light of the day bathes objects in diverse colors, my observational skills get challenged to find the new, exciting, and unique around me. My creativity extends to my lifelong interest in the world’s cultures and the conservation of wildlife that I continue to pursue by documenting them with my camera, searching to improve my understanding and appreciation of both.

My ability to be free to express creativity with full desire in my art helps me navigate and explore this world on a deeper level within my subconscious. Thru my art I create a bridge from this world to the spiritual world while also connecting to my inner self and others throughout the world. It is through empathy for this world we live in, I create art to truly understand others, myself and the natural laws of nature.

I believe the greatest moments for success can be reached when we are faced with adversity because it pushes us out of our comfort zones and forces us to create “out of the box” solutions that we would never create otherwise.

Let the world be our greatest teacher, pushing us to places of new exploration.

May we be open minded enough to see the open doors in closed rooms. The power of art is its ability to imagine the unimaginable.

I’m seeking to create something that will flood our heart, mind, and soul with a sense of hope and excitement! My art helps me to work thru difficulties and promote a sense of soul healing for myself as well. My process of co-creating with the Creator is a spiritual and therapeutic experience that promotes healing internally.

My work explores themes of resilience, transformation and the reclamation of self. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi, my paintings represent the restoration of emotional balance and renewal of chakras, emphasizing the beauty in imperfection. Textured surfaces with layers of color invite introspection and articulate the fragile balance between vulnerability and strength. My art intertwines abstract expression with meaningful narratives of healing and transformation.

I like to think every piece I create is infused with gratitude for those who supported or taught me, who commissioned or collected my work, and believed in my dreams. Every line, shape, color, and shade originates in nature. With no mechanical help or instruction, Mother Nature creates perfect symmetrical designs, as well as wild, random shapes.

Frantisek Strouhal

My imagery is meant to serve as an oasis of tranquility, permanence and strength and to capture and highlight what is fundamental to our being and society

As an artist, my commitment lies in living consciously, using my intellect, affection, and creativity to make a positive impact on the world. To achieve this, I have discovered that the most effective approach is to invest my time and energy in the practice of keen observation. In that way, I am able to fully engage in the present moment. Each image I create is carefully designed to evoke a myriad of thoughts, emotions, and moods, ultimately inspiring and unraveling the depths of our subconscious nature. It is a true renaissance of artistry in the modern age.

Research shows that visual surroundings can influence mental and emotional well-being, which in turn affects physical health. Because of this, I am drawn to subjects that evoke peace and positive memories, particularly imagery from the natural world. Through detailed views of nature’s beauty and scenes of rural life, my work invites viewers to slow down and step away from the pace of modern life. By pausing to observe and reflect, I hope viewers experience a sense of calm and renewal through the quiet intricacy of God’s creation.

Monique J. Dufour

Whispers of the Unseen, acrylic, 28" x 32"

I identify myself as painting from the inside out. When I paint, I am drawn to select a palette of colours, and spiritual source and energy guide my hands and creates all that is beautiful from and for the soul, which frequently provides a healing energy and vibration, that lingers with the artwork.

What We Believe

The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS is a growing community of like-minded people who share the belief that art can serve as a catalyst for healing individuals, society and the environment, and that art can raise awareness and lift our spirits. We believe art is a powerful catalyst for positive change in the world.  In the words of Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has”.  That’s the kind of belief and wisdom that guides our online art gallery, articles about art and healing, and our online art exhibitions.
