Maria Belik creates emotive works of art that resonate with imaginative symbolism and evocative metaphorical references. In her “Illustration” portfolio Maria conveys a range of universal human emotions and concepts fused with an intuitive and sagacious creative energy. Her figurative art evokes a profound and insightful visceral impact that continually transforms us.

Maria’s subjects come alive with a resounding resplendence and sense of drama as she captures the essence of human existence with diverse artistic attributes. The expressions range from states of deep contemplation, to awe-inspiring euphoria, to enigmatic confrontations and resilience.

Maria’s transcendent, music-inspired painting “Want to Be Free” exudes high pitch emotion with an enveloping rhythm. Her visionary use of doves as a symbolic element of peace enlivens the painting with a powerful, dramatic momentum.

Throughout her distinctive oeuvre Maria skillfully reinterprets aspects of Classical and Contemporary Realism, Romanticism, Magic Realism and Surrealism which manifest in her own inimitable style. Furthermore, she has mastered the spectrum of chromatic and tonal hues with unbridled versatility and knowledge of how color influences us on a sensory and intuitive level.

As a quintessential, multi-talented contemporary artist Maria is equally proficient in traditional drawing and painting techniques as she is integrating new creative digital fine art mediums to produce a myriad of layers, textures, and spatial depth.

“Last Day of Youth”, shown above, is a superb example of how Maria captures her subjects’ thoughts, memories and aspirations. Future possibilities and the transient process of human evolution are revealed. This surreal, luminous painting transports us into a dreamlike reverie that unravels an enlightened treasure trove of imaginative thoughts and feelings of wanderlust.

Maria’s art transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. She awakens our quest to tap deeply into the vast universe of human experience. She reminds us how we all experience life similarly which unifies us with each other and connects us to our natural environment.

The healing modalities of nature permeate Maria’s compelling repertoire. Her holistic vision emerges in her evocative painting “Golden”. She portrays the central figure, Mother Earth, as a powerful energetic force, within a swirling, rhythmic, and ethereal cosmos. She imbues this painting with a poetic ambiance and potent perspective.

Maria’s scope of creative expertise is unlimited. She is also a prominent published illustrator. You will find a wide variety of her extraordinary works of art on her website.
